Drug suspect dies of cocaine ingestion

Lagos Nigeria: National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reveled yesterday that a Lagos based trader died at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, having ingested cocaine.

The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Obiefuna collapsed at the departure hall and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was intended to fly on an Ethiopian Airline flight to China through Addis Ababa on July 5, according to a statement.

NDLEA commander at the Abuja Airport, Hamisu Lawan said that the suspect confessed to cocaine ingestion at the hospital when his condition stabilized a bit.

55 wraps of substances tested positive for cocaine with a weight of 1.20kg was removed from his stomach at the hospital.

His father has been informed of the incident.
