Did you know that the Xbox TV streaming device was believed to be an HDMI dongle much like Google Chromecast? It would have been a $99 dongle that was able to run Universal Windows Platform applications and even light UWP games. Now, a new report claims that Microsoft was pretty much done with the development of this device and that it was due to order 300,000 units for production but it decided to shelve the product, but how true is this?
The report also said that Microsoft wasn’t actually planning on unveiling Project Scorpio at E3 this year but the leaks and Sony’s announcement of the PlayStation 4 Pro forced the company’s hand. For now, it appears that Microsoft has canceled the dongle as it wants the spotlight to remain firmly on its consoles.
