A pastor, an evangelist, two nurses and 13 other church members have been arrested for operating child trafficking business in Anambra state, Nigeria.

The suspects, who number 17 were paraded shamefully at the DSS headquarters in Awka. The names of these child traffickers were released in The Nation newspapers. They all appear to be Igbos.
It was reported that these people were responsible for kidnapping three children who were returned to their parents after the traffickers were caught. One of them is a seven month old baby.
About 17 persons have been arrested because of this issue and according to Anambra State Director of DSS, the same cases are going on elsewhere in Nigeria and pastors and other eminent members of the church are often involved.
